    Superb

Located steps from Château Frontenac and the Boardwalk - easy to reach the Old City, Plaines d'Abraham and Cirque du Soleil on foot. Cozy, well-appointed room in 180-year-old building. Great water pressure in the shower (I'm not sure you'd even need to use soap - it's like a pressure-washer!)

The front door was so hard to push open that we thought we were locked out one evening (the front desk staff came to rescue us when we pounded on the door) Also, our room (17) was on the third floor adjacent to the stairs - so it was very noisy as there are no elevators and everyone uses the stairs.

    Fabulous

The location could not have been better for exploring Old Quebec. The european style of this simple small hotel was comfortable. Our room was modest, but did have a view of the river which was nice. I would recommend booking one of the rooms with a balcony if you can.

    Location

We ordered two rooms but for some reasons the reservetion for us was just one room

Location, price and rooms were clean

When checking out we were told (and only then) that the complimentery breakfast was only if you paid for your stay with cash but would be charged if we paid by credit card. Who pays for a hotel by cash these days and it should have been told or published up front.. Even then two days they ran out of food at breakfast (continental) even though they were book completley and yet they did not plan on enough food for the number of guest, several others could not get breakfast either. Paid for parking and there were not enough parking spaces and other gust took the space that was assigned, some had to find alturnative parking, not to convient. Front desk help was awful. Stay here before but not again.

    Decent value for the location.

Very bare bones. No air conditioning in the room which was problematic because it was quite hot. The wireless internet was not particularly reliable.

    Fabulous

Hotel is in the Old City and has a wonderful view of the St. Lawrence River. Personnel was nice, room clean and quiet.

    The price and location only.

No elevators, ac on 24 hours with thermostat that cannot be adjusted. Cramped room with minimal electrical outlets.

    Exceptional

Ideal location for our trip to see old quebec. Staff excetional to help and offer suggestions. A home away from hometo return in the future. Quiet at night and secure with american consul next door. We satayed 3 additional nights

    Superb

Extremely well located. We saw the Saint-Lawrence river from the window and our neighbours were the United States of America consulate. It's right between the Frontenac castle and the Abraham plaines, just beside the fortress.

It was a bit expensive, but i guess you can expect that on the 23st of june (St-Jean-Baptiste holiday).

    Fabulous

Location, location and location. For the low price, you can be prepared and enjoy your staying.

    1. Old building no elevator, stair rise is relatively high. Bring small and light luggages, since if you are put on top floors, no one will help to carry them up. 2. Wireless internet didn't work at all except for reception area. Staff at night shift only works till 11pm, and do not speak English, very friendly though. He managed to tell me he there is nothing he can do about the wireless internet, because the walls are thick.... 3. no electric outlet can be found around bed. No telephone, even though there is a card on the desk says dial zero for help... 4. need to ask for shampoo and rent hair blower. 5. don't stay next to stair, again, old wood building, it will get noisy when people run up and down especially when they are catching early morning flights, dragging their luggages down...

    Very good

    Old but cosy hotel.

You don't get much for breakfast (you can't expect much for $5,00)

  • 7.4
    Very good

The view. It's a block from Chateau Frontenac and looks over the St. Lawrence from a cliff and down the river quite a ways. The staff stayed up until 1am when I told them my train/bus was late, and next morning offered me the outdoor nook in front for breakfast both mornings (only big enough for 2).

I could hear rats running around in the walls. Frequently at night and even in the morning. I know... I have an apartment in NYC. They need to do something to close the holes. Also, the bathroom was so small I couldn't sit properly on the toilet without banging my knees into the bathtub.

    Very good

    The Location

The room was chilly. There was no independent control for heat. We asked the staff to turn on the heat--old water radiators. They evidently did, since the radiator in the lobby got slightly warm. The radiator in our room never got above cold. Breakfast was served in a very stark small basement room. We ordered the continental breakfast--it never arrived.

    Fabulous

The staff is really friendly and the hotel is really nice and cozy. Worth the price.

  • 7.4
    Very good

Location and staff. It's next to the Castle Frontenac Hotel and overlooks the St Lawrence river. And has its own (expensive and minimal) parking, a big plus (now $18).

Well--room was dim (no lightbulb in one light), ceiling fan didn't work (no ac), their printer was broken (no boarding pass print out), no sugar or cream for the little coffee machine, no central lobby for sitting.
